A points-based economy for a large community server. Members earn through chat and voice activity, spend in a categorised shop, and get rewarded for server boosts and role milestones.
The problem
The server needed an economy that felt native, not bolted on. Off-the-shelf bots gave them a generic points system with no way to customise earning rules, restrict what counted, or tie rewards meaningfully to the roles their community cared about. Staff were also handling purchase redemptions manually, which didn't scale.
What I built
A full economy system built around the server's existing structure. Members earn points through messages in the main chat channel and voice activity, with a 3× multiplier for members holding a specific booster role. Boosting the server automatically credits 25,000 points. The shop is organised into three categories, shop, roles, and gifts, and handles role rewards automatically on purchase, with every transaction logged to a dedicated channel. Shop items support one-time purchase limits, limited stock (consumables), and custom reward text for items that need manual fulfilment. Admins manage everything through slash commands with no restarts required.
Outcome
- Live since March 2026
- Running in an active community of 32,000+ members
- Full shop and earning system operational from day one
